To paraphrase Tolstoy, every original family is alike. Every blended family is blended in its own way.

When you're planning a second wedding, one question looms large: "What shall we do with the children?" In our case, the oldest of our three was 29, the youngest a scant 18. How could we involve them in our ceremony in a way that communicates to them not only how much we love them, but also how committed we are to respecting them as individuals? John and I devised a special ceremony immediately after our chapel wedding that was all about the boys. It's one of my favorite parts of that beautiful day.
