    On April 15th, better known as ‘Tax Day,’ the American people reflect on the size of their tax burden and whether or not they’re receiving good value for their tax dollars.  This year, with the federal budget at $3.8 trillion, the budget deficit at $1.3 trillion, and with a host of new taxes taking effect on account of the health care bill, we have more reason than ever to be concerned about the impact that tax and spending policies are having on our economy and our freedom.  Today’s protest rallies in Eastern Washington and across America show growing frustration with President Obama and the Majority in Congress, and I share that frustration.  Read more >

    From today’s Bloomberg News: The U.S. has moved “substantially” closer to losing its  AAA credit ratings as the cost of servicing its debt rose, according to Moody’s Investors Service.   Read more >

    We as a nation are currently looking at cost drivers in health insurance and a big part of that is that people are not allowed to buy the insurance they want.  They are forced to either buy the insurance that their state legislators or state insurance commissioners think that they need, even though that may be much more expensive.   Read more >

  7. I Head To The House Floor To Ask "Where Are The Jobs?"

    Yesterday I went to the floor of the House to discuss the lack of job growth one year after the stimulus. A recent article by a Harvard economic professor says that over five years the Stimulus will result in $900 billion less in spending in the private sector to create $600 billion more in spending in the public sector. This is not a recipe to create the job growth our citizens are demanding.  Read more >
