Hi! I'm Kate and I'm a twenty-something wife to my tech-loving husband, Jon, and mom to our ridiculously spoiled dog, Lola. I was a XC/Track scholarship athlete at the University of Richmond and spent all 4 years of college running my butt off during the week and dancing on top of bars with my girlfriends on the weekends.
I moved to Northern Virginia soon after graduation and promptly met the man I was going to marry (see tech-loving husband above). We fell in love at first sight, were married almost 2 years to the day later and now spend most of our free weekends doing home improvements or traveling. Guess which one I prefer? We recently decided to stop trying to "not try" to get pregnant and I can't wait to see where that takes us.
I started blogging in 2007 after too many years of sitting by the sidelines and thinking, "I could do that!" My only regret is that I didn't start sooner because I am amazed by all of the great friendships I have made with people I've never even met in person.
My day job is in Human Resources, and while it's not the most fascinating job in the world, I'm convinced it's a pretty good match for my personality because I get to talk to many different people all day long. Yes, I'm one of those people who makes friends in the grocery store. (Thank you, Mom, for that trait).
In my free time, I love to experiment with new recipes, check my e-mail obsessively, go shopping, work out and of course, write on my blog. My favorite things in life are my family, cheese and the smell of freshly-sharpened pencils…in no particular order.
