    The time has come for  me or for…“Eve,” rather to “expand” my horizons to better get my point across to you. I wish to nourish you all with the best fruit of knowledge I can provide to you, but my work here has been limited thus far, and so your benefit has been limited. I hope to change all this soon! To do this, in my opinion, I feel I must  expand beyond BlogHer and launch my own website. Writing this little blog has been very helpful, but it’s not enough.     What we see and hear, all impacts women directly and indirectly…it affects all of us that way.  So in a world full of religion, it may just have done so in a negative way. I recently interviewed a fellow journalist who happens to work for a publication that focuses on social issues in New York.     Tradition can make up a huge part of who we are, and can also be part of a mold to create who we will become. I recently interviewed a Catholic woman who is El Salvadorian and in her late 20's. And as you will see below, I asked her some of the standard questions you usually see on this blog. But what I noticed that was interesting about her answers was her inner identification between old vs. new. As a Latin woman, Maria identifies largely with traditional cultural expectations and traditions commonly practiced in her family, particularly with religion.  Read more >

    Do you think Dominique Strauss-Kahn won his case in the court of public opinion? Would you say he is guilty or innocent? What about his accuser, Nafissatou Diallo. To me, I think the answer is pretty clear and resounding amongst public airways. But does it really matter?  The media is a powerful resource, more powerful than many seem to understand. And it seems that because of the media, sometimes hope glimmers bitter-sweetly in the most unlikely situations, such as in the Dominique Strauss-Kahn case.      There is so much that can be said and done to honor the 10th anniversary of September 11th, 2001…an anniversary that changed the United States of America and the world in so many ways.   10. Will the “Real” Feminists Please stand up?

           There is a fine line a woman must walk when running for public office in the United States of America. If she throws herself off-balance more than a few centimeters, the consequences could be detrimental to her campaign. And because women who are running for public office are you know, women, the “hawk eyes” are keen to watch and scrutinize every move they make.
