  1. Time to Grow, Time to Mobilize on a new website! Coming Soon! :-)

The time has come for  me or for…“Eve,” rather to “expand” my horizons to better get my point across to you. I wish to nourish you all with the best fruit of knowledge I can provide to you, but my work here has been limited thus far, and so your benefit has been limited. I hope to change all this soon! To do this, in my opinion, I feel I must  expand beyond BlogHer and launch my own website. Writing this little blog has been very helpful, but it’s not enough. Thus, new mobilization must follow.  Read more >

  2. Believing is Seeing....so is Seeing is Believing?

What we see and hear, all impacts women directly and indirectly…it affects all of us that way.  So in a world full of religion, it may just have done so in a negative way. I recently interviewed a fellow journalist who happens to work for a publication that focuses on social issues in New York. He was kind enough to answer my questions and what is interesting about this gentleman, is that he does not define himself under a specific religion.  Read more >

  3. What I Leaned as a Woman, and a Catholic Altar Server

"I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do, because I notice it always coincides with their own desires." ~ Susan B. Anthony.I am hesitant to discuss the religion in which I was raised in this blog since my writing does not focus on one specific religion. But unfortunately, recent events lead me to realize it may be necessary to mention it in some aspects, specifically regarding the risk of young girls losing the right to be Altar Serves in the Catholic Church. So here it goes…  Read more >

Hello there, my name is Eve.I live inside an apple tree. It’s a very special tree you see, because its power will set you free. Inside my tree is a secret place where seeds of knowledge grow.  Read more >

  5. Just a Big Thank You for Once...for Quality Television...

I've been a little busy these days but I just wanted to stop by really quickly and say THANK YOU to the networks who had me extra busy watching so much Television recently! And it was quality television that is worth watching for once, television worth buying! So what have I seen?  Read more >

  6. Old Eve vs. New Eve...A woman's Inner-Balance with her Decision to Remain Catholic

Tradition can make up a huge part of who we are, and can also be part of a mold to create who we will become. I recently interviewed a Catholic woman who is El Salvadorian and in her late 20's. And as you will see below, I asked her some of the standard questions you usually see on this blog. But what I noticed that was interesting about her answers was her inner identification between old vs. new. As a Latin woman, Maria identifies largely with traditional cultural expectations and traditions commonly practiced in her family, particularly with religion.  Read more >

  7. DSK vs. Diallo, the Silver Lining in the Court of Public Opinion

Do you think Dominique Strauss-Kahn won his case in the court of public opinion? Would you say he is guilty or innocent? What about his accuser, Nafissatou Diallo. To me, I think the answer is pretty clear and resounding amongst public airways. But does it really matter?  The media is a powerful resource, more powerful than many seem to understand. And it seems that because of the media, sometimes hope glimmers bitter-sweetly in the most unlikely situations, such as in the Dominique Strauss-Kahn case. Yes, the outcome many would have preferred did not occur.  Read more >

  8. Reflection of September 11th in Communication and World Religions

There is so much that can be said and done to honor the 10th anniversary of September 11th, 2001…an anniversary that changed the United States of America and the world in so many ways. Much of these actions are fueled by what we could not do, which was bring back the people we lost on that fateful day.  And while I’m sure there are quite a few reflective blog posts swarming around the internet, I have a different reflective and communicative goal in mind. That goal is to share with you transference of religious peace so- to-speak.  Read more >

  9. Goddesses, Myths, Women...and Fear

“The simplest and most basic meaning of the symbol of the Goddess is the acknowledgment of the legitimacy of female power as a beneficent and independent power.”   ~Carol P. Christ.  Read more >

  10. Will the “Real” Feminists Please stand up?

There is a fine line a woman must walk when running for public office in the United States of America. If she throws herself off-balance more than a few centimeters, the consequences could be detrimental to her campaign. And because women who are running for public office are you know, women, the “hawk eyes” are keen to watch and scrutinize every move they make. Of course I am referring to the media, but I’m also referring to the scrutiny of the American public.  Read more >
