About Me:

While working my way into the social networking scene one baby step at a time, I hope to meet and develop relationships with many fascinating, all unique, women. The basics "about me" are as follows: I am 35, married, have one eleven year old son, and one fourteen year old daughter. I am an extremely proud mother and think my children are the bomb! Yes, cliche, I know; however, there's no way around it, and if it's a fact...it's a fact. I was a stay-at-home-mom for a dozen years, then started my own business in January 2009. It is a home tutoring business families needing a private, home tutor for their child or children. I do not tutor, nor am I a teacher. I contract certified teachers to do all the tutoring. I am also a registered dental assistant with sedation certifications in oral dentistry. However, I only work part-time in this field so I can concentrate on NEA Home Tutoring, LLC, my family, and my writing! I live in Jonesboro, AR, a city of 68,000, located in Northeastern Arkansas. I simply have to mention that the estimated annual income here for women is $10,000 more than men! How many places do you know of with a statistic like that? Yes, I'm proud!

Currently, I am tossing off all layers of fear, fear, and fear, in order to finally do what I have felt the need to do for, um, my whole lifetime. Never mind the people who have told me that I must write. You know good and well that writing is something one must do because they can not, not write. I write for myself, and have written stories for my children. I have written for other people, when asked, and have even been published once. It was not by choice, however. Of course, I was very happy and extremely honored; what I mean is that I wasn't writing with the purpose of possible getting published. It was for the Memphis Commercial Appeal newspaper. As it happened, it was a journal entry taken from the online guest book for Southern Baptist pastor Dr. Adrian Rogers, for his memorial service following his death. Apparently, the newspaper liked what I had written and reprinted an excerpt from my entry the following morning. A college professor of mine, at the time, read it out loud  in class that morning and I was speechless! I was completely surprised (no, ahem, I had not read my local newspaper that morning) and honored. We were living in Memphis then, and attended Bellevue Baptist Church. Dr. Rogers had dedicated my son, Jimmy, to the church when he was only a few months old. I had written my entry with deep emotion, respect, and gratitude for the late head of our church.

I suppose, for now, this will be enough "about me". Hold onto your seat though; I plan on barreling through the barriers of blogging, writing short stories, articles, and hopefully, my first novel. I have much to learn and will utilize this website and countless other to pursue my goals. Perhaps, in the near future I shall add great things here, "about me"!
