  1. Half Hers, For Now

Harper, our 21 month old, recently learned how to climb out of her crib and open her bedroom door. The past few nights, she had made sure to put her newfound skills to use. One night, I counted and Harper climbed out of her crib 14 times. I've barely slept the past four nights and I'm exhausted, to say the very least. I'm okay with that, however. I've got a stock of Rockstar Recovery to keep me going throughout the day and I've got a whole lot of love for Harper to keep me from beating/drugging her in the night.   Read more >

  2. She Needed Me to Be Very, VERY Patient.

In June, my focus words were poise, purpose, and patience. I didn't blog about them very much. That doesn't mean I wasn't thinking about them. I actually wrote quite a lot about each in my personal journal (believe it or not, I don't share EVERYTHING on here).I like these words. I liked focusing on them and I won't be forgetting them just because June has come to an end and goodness knows, I've got a long way to go to really become as poised, patient, and purposeful as I'd like to be.  Read more >

  3. A Clean House Isn't My Priority

I'm cleaning my house today and it's absolutely no fun at all. Still, I am doing it because I like a clean house. Who doesn't?  If you know my mother, you know that I grew up in an immaculate home. I've had more than one person tell me that they would eat off of my mother's floors. Her house is perfect- always shiny, orderly, and fresh.   Read more >

  4. The Stuff You Don't Know When You Ask: "So When Are You Having Another Baby?"

    One Child

I knew it would happen when we got married. People would begin asking about and expecting us to want/have/produce another child. Over at my personal blog, I've made it pretty clear that parenthood suits me. I love my daughter and enjoy watching her learn and grow more than I ever imagined. That doesn't necessarily mean that I'm dying to have another baby any time soon, or possibly even ever.  Read more >

  5. I'm New Here!

This is something of a trial post. I joined blogher several months ago but am just recently finding my way around. It is a really big site and can seem a bit overwhelming.I've been blogging for about a year and a half. I don't know how or why I joined the blogging train so late. I've always loved writing and photography. I absolutely love sharing my thoughts about life, parenting, style, and books on my blog. Blogging has become a much loved hobby- obsession almost- for me. I'm hoping that blogher will do nothing but add to it. Any advice you may have would be much appreciated!  Read more >
