    It was in the 50's today and I decided that it would be a good idea to take down the Christmas lights while we still had a chance before bad weather strikes again.     Christmas came early this year- for me anyway. My husband, wanting to make up for the Great Bath Towel Gift Debacle of 2009, or Towel-Gate, as I like to call it- was busting at the seams to surprise me with my present. He knew he had selected the perfect present this year, however.MJ is a practical man who picks out practical presents.   3. Where is the Mid-Life Crisis Barbie?

    I went for a job interview. Nothing special, just an associate’s position at the local department store. I’m in a weird place right now. I think it’s a mid-life crisis-only no hot, young blonde boyfriend and t-top camaro for me…instead it’s a lot of wondering where I am going with my life, whether I’m doing anything worthwhile, wah, wah, wah.   4. Self-Esteem and Mommyhood

    Being a mom is hard. That's it in a nutshell. I'm not going to sugar-coat it. I'm not one of those flowery, ethereal mothers who have it all together who spout off about what an absolute gift from above that motherhood is, their hair perfectly coifed, nails done, macaroni necklace in place. I used to pretend I was one of "those". Now I just smile and nod when I listen to someone going on and on about how rewarding motherhood is and how baking cupcakes for a school party is SO fulfilling.
