    In my continuing research into women's health over 40, I am reading two books. One by Dr. Christiane Northrup, and the other by Ana Forrest. Both women are over 50. On their book covers, Ana's face shows lines and wrinkles. Dr. Northrup's face looks smoother than a teenager's (and blanker). Airbrushing. Whatever you call it---retouching, photoshopping. Drives me crazy. Especially when it is done to accomplished, older women. Now, both of these women are talking about taking charge of one's healing, and women's issues.  Read more >

  2. The Change? An Alternative View of Peri-Menopause

    You know what I hate about peri-menopause, or menopause, or whatever you want to call it? It's not hot flashes or moodiness. It's the words themselves. Not the fact that these words exist as a medical description, because I'm all for calling things what they are. But rather that these terms are used as a category to classify women based on their reproductive cycles.  Read more >
