Wonder Woman & The Bionic Woman were my Jam

Prompt 1 -  Monday, November 2What was the one toy that a friend had that you wished you had when you were little?——I was the oldest of three children and for reasons that I guess I’m happy about, I didn’t get the typical “girl” toys when I was a kid.  I loved being outside, playing baseball, basketball and anything the neighborhood kids were doing. ...more

Balance: Taking a Break From Social Media During the Holidays

It is the third day since I deleted Facebook, Twitter and Instagram from my mobile devices. It's been three days since I lost myself on my endless feed of news (good and bad) from my friends on Facebook. My wife and I were inspired by my friend Lauren (aka Queerie Bradshaw), who took off the entire month of November from Social Media.... well.. everything actually. She took a month completely offline. I wanted to do baby steps, so for the next two weeks, it's a Social Networking blackhole for me.  ...more

#21DaysofGeek - Dad and His Gadgets

My dear friends, it is coming to that time in a "young" woman's life when she must live up to the fact that she can't claim it's her 29th birthday anymore. It's a big one this year, and to kick off this momentous birthday month (yes, I celebrate the entire month, damnit), I've decided to take a cue from my friend Ginger Sass....more
