I suddenly came to the realization that eating organic, market-fresh, good for me fruits and vegetables was going to be nearly impossible here in GiTMO and I am disappointed because this is, after all, a tropical island  Read more >

  8. When it rains....Exercise!

I was watching an episode of Army Wives in which Joan (a high ranking officer) is being deployed to Iraq and the day she leaves her daughter gets sick and daddy (Army husband) has to take her to the hospital in a hurry with 105 degree temperature.  What the heck!!??  She later calls to see how things are and he lies and tells her everything is great, baby is keeping me busy, we miss you, don't worry about us...etc.  Well, that's not all that uncommon.  It really is pointless to complain to them about our problems at home when they have much more to worry about and there'  Read more >

  9. The power of a positive attitude

You ever find yourself surrounded by negative people? At work.   At the grocery store.   At the gym.   Sometimes, even at home.   Yes.  We all face them and sometimes we just follow suit and fall into that negative rut that plagues so many.      Read more >

About Me:

I am a mommy, a military spouse, a fitness trainer, a college student.  I'm also a dreamer, an optimist, a great friend, and an ever evolving green gal. I hope to inspire others and be inspired.

My children are my world - four of them ages 18--on the way to college, see him here  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mD18iDgc1k

I have a 15 year old girl whom I love dearly but boy she is just like me and I know it.  Needless to say, I have learned to be patient beyond belief because I want her to make it through high school :-)

The there's my 6.5 year old miss know it all, want to do everything and wants to get paid to do it too.  She's the business girl, she even wants to charge me $5 for her artwork that she painted with my supplies.

AND my little man now 2.5 years old.  He's just sweet as can be and a momma's boy, at least for now.

My hubby is in the Navy and we now have maybe 4 more years before retirement which means we get to settle down in one State, one city, one town..oh wow... not sure I'm ready to comit to one town.  We'll have to work on that.

I am always working to improve my physique and will be first to admit that I am no Jillian-- no I do not have ripping abs or deep cuts in my glutes and quads.  I'm OK for now, for my age, for the amount of stress I let myself carry.  However, I love helping others reach their fitness goals and we will work hard together to get there.  In my opinion it is not so much about the scale but about the level of  physical fitness and comitment we choose to give ourselves to live a healthy lifestyle, at least 80% of the time.

I am so so close to getting my degreee in Social Studies with a minor in Humanities-- a few more classes and I'm done!  I love to learn so I'm sure I'll continue my studies in the fitness field, it all depends where we live next and if I can find a school that offers what I want.  In the meant time I continue my education through AFAA, FiTour, Spinning(r), and IDEA Fitness.

I hope my contributions about parenting, family fitness, personal goals, and spiritual growth will help others as much as it helps me when I write about them.
