    In my early twenties, I remember being at some sort of a party - a BBQ perhaps? A dinner party? I can't be sure. While the details of the party are a hazy mystery, I do recall the conversation, which stunned me."I can't wait," my friend Janet said, "for the fall television lineup. I have it all planned out."     Upon learning that Showtime (which is home to two of my favorite shows - Dexter and Weeds) had developed a dramatic series about domestic terrorism, I was intrigued. Showtime usually manages to captivate their audience well, and Homeland -- a thriller adapted for American television from the Israeli show Hatufim (translation: Abducted) -- was no exception with its too-short season.  Read more >

    Today is a sad, sad day.Not only did I wake up and break a nail while getting dressed, but I learned that one of my favorite television antiheroes will no longer be, well, my favorite television antihero.That's right - after 8 blissfully long seasons, House, M.D., will end its run this May.     So Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are splitting up.I'm going to be honest when I say that I never understood why they got married in the first place. Then again, I'm still not over the Brad Pitt/Jennifer Aniston split. They were the perfect couple! I'm hoping against hope for a comeback marriage for those two.  Read more >

    The January premiere of House, MD, found us watching as a man -- Jack Nash -- heroically saved a woman stuck in the throes of a seizure on the subway tracks (no one, I thought was interesting, asked how a woman having a seizure ended up there in the first place, but I digress). She uses her medical knowledge to feel smugly superior to television hospital dramas and lives an elaborate fantasy life married to her televison husbands.
