I've been blogging at Knotty Yarn since 2003. I'm a dedicated feminist, freelance writer and (at the age of 33) a full-time, non-traditional college student. My first book, Tales from Fish Camp, was published in 2004, and my writing has been featured in several publications including Cringe: Teenage Diaries, Journals, Notes, Letters, Poems, and Abandoned Rock Operas, Rivet Magazine, and Kitchen Sink Magazine, among others. I was a featured speaker at Blogher’s Community Keynote, and I'm particularly passionate about women’s issues. I've driven across the United States a couple of times, and James Sime once called me “the Johnny Cash of girls.” You can learn more about me at Knotty Yarn.
