Parents Don't Have Time to READ!

I've been tired since 1983, which not-so-coincidentally is the year my first daughter was born.  Since she graced my life, there have been four more daughters. The youngest is now 10 and I'm finally pulling out of that always-tired stage.  ...more

Blogging: Mission, Vision, Rosemary and Thyme.

Well, hello there fellow BlogHer blogger!  How are you?  Keeping well, I hope. I wanted to talk to you today about your blog, which is really an artful way for me to steal all your good ideas and use them on my blog.  I'm tricky like that. But not really.  After all, this social media thing is about the dialog, right?  (Just nod and agree.  Thank you.) ...more

What I Learned by NOT Going to BlogHer 12

When BlogHer 12 was in full swing, so were the Olympics and I logged onto Twitter to follow the Olympic tweets.  That's when I started seeing all my BlogHer Chatter peeps tweeting about the goings-on at the conference, and I got bedazzled by what I was missing. ...more

BlogHer 13 Buddy System: tell me what you think of this idea!

Hi, my name is Linda. I have many fine qualities. I'm a good wife and mother, I'm good at my job, I sometimes write some pretty hilarious stuff, and I am a fabulous online networker.  But put me, face-to-face, in a room of people I don't know, and I'm riddled with social anxiety.  This is what happened to me when I previously attended a BlogHer conference. ...more

Wife of Diabetic

I hear him slip out of bed and I look at the clock.  1:41AM.  The same mysterious capability that would wake me when my babies were rustling in the other room even before they cried out works here too.  I’m attuned to these particular night sounds.  When he’s up like this, I am on guard. It’s  the usual routine; first a trip into the bathroom where he tests his blood sugar level, then a trip downstairs. ...more

When Your Child is Invisible

It was the group with the older girls that caught my interest. I watched for a long time and couldn’t help but think that my child was deemed invisible out there. I watched a half dozen high school cheerleaders being playful and friendly with the adorable little girls and not even one interacted with my daughter. ...more

I’m going to the BlogHer conference! ....Unless I chicken out.

In February, when I did my early-bird registration, it seemed like I had plenty of time to seduce a new online BFF to hang out with me in New York in August....more

I'll read you a book

Last night, my youngest daughter - the only one who cannot read yet, not fully - brought me her bedtime story book.  It was Dr. Seuss's Cat in the Hat and I thought to myself about how much I hate that stupid book, how many times I've read it over the years to each of my five daughters.  It occurred to me that my youngest was on the verge of being able to read for herself so perhaps my time of having to read that was near its end!  Yay!...more

Naked and Raw in Blogging
