  3. McCain's Offensive Scoffing at Medical Errors

    Last night John McCain offended me to the core in his Town Hall debate against Barack Obama. While discussing health care issues, McCain scoffed at "medical errors" and even used air quotes when he said the term. His platform addresses his plan for reducing "frivolous" medical malpractice law suits. From his flippant attitude about medical errors last night, it's clear to me that he will make sure that the term "frivolous" is defined with the doctors in mind and with little concern for patients.  Read more >

    Last year we discovered that I had a rare form of cancer -- so rare that it took doctors ten years to realize that there was a tumor on my pancreas. Up to that point, they all said I had Irritable Bowel Syndrome and gave me a myriad of drugs which masked the root of the cause: a metastatic, insulin-secreting tumor on my pancreas.  Read more >

    I am a strong supporter of Barack Obama -- just as I would have been a strong supporter of Hillary Clinton. We need a Democrat in office. NOW. It's time to swing the pendulum back towards the left to fix our economy, fix the healthcare quagmire, fight the fights that need to be fought for the right reasons, continue to allow women to have the final say on our own reproductive rights, care for our planet and all the life forms that inhabit it, and I could go on. But, I feel that I owe the Republican party respect and should watch their convention just as I did the DNC.  Read more >

  7. McCain/Palin Will Overturn Roe v. Wade

    Yesterday I had a conversation with a republican friend who is vociferously in support of McCain but clearly does not actually know the issues. When talking about Roe v. Wade, she was stunned when I said that we were one vote away from the Supreme Court overturning the 1973 ruling. I realized at that moment, that we are not doing a good enough job presenting the issues for this presidential campaign -- but we are doing a great job discussing children, moms, wives, skin color, breasts, etc.  Read more >
