I wrote a post recently mourning the loss of a soap opera veteran. She was the matriarch of a show I watched with my grandmother, when I was a girl.  My nanny called her soap operas "her stories".  She got me hooked on Days of Our Lives.  I blame my mother for getting me hooked on Dark Shadows and The Young & the Restless. I can only blame myself for General Hospital.   Read more >

 I just read a very disturbing article about a convicted rapist who disguised himself as a teenaged boy, befriending a young girl on FB, and then arranging a "meeting" with the girl. He picked her up in his car, then raped and murdered her.    Read more >

  I have to admit that this is the first year I've watched American Idol so closely.  Usually, I cut to the chase and begin watching when the competition is down to the final 12.  Read more >
