    How do you hide? It is a fresh new year ahead of us. It is time for me to finalize my plan and put it into action. Time is running short! I know that I will soon be getting that phone call that says, “Hi Barb. It is time for our quarterly review to see how your plan is coming along!” Goodness gracious.     Time to write another blog post. What should my topic be? Hmmm... The beautiful changing leaves of the Seattle landscape? The upcoming holiday season? How about shoes? (I did participate in some fabulous shoe therapy this past weekend.) I've got it! How about my kids!! I heard that! Even through the laptop keyboard I can feel the collective groan of my regular readers. "Please" you are shouting. "Not your kids AGAIN!"  Read more >

    Yes, it is true, my baby girl is all grown up...so she tells me. She is now 21 years old, is a junior in college, works part time on campus, runs an online business (here's your plug CJ...www.toinvite.com), and...oh yeah...has a boyfriend (aka social life).     We are living in a fascinating time, and fascinating events are spinning all around us. Financial Crisis! Storm Disasters! Election Year! Drama! Drama! Drama! I find myself turning on the news channels every evening to catch up on the latest conversations around world events. But something else has surprised me more then all these current events.     So soon? Where did the time go? I remember so clearly when we brought home this amazing little baby......This is where I stop myself. Now, I can certainly do the predictable and slip into the typical, "what a wonderful experience to watch you learn to walk...blah...blah...blah", and believe me when I say that I am tempted. However, I realize that nothing I say can really share the true emotions of a mother in talking about their children. So instead of talking about my daughter, I will talk to her.  Read more >

I am lucky to have found not one person, but a very special group of people, that I will be privileged to always call my friends.
