I'm a foodblogger and household CEO, volunteer Sunday School teacher and mom to Pickle the dog and Thundercat.
Until September 2005, I was a US Federal employee for 14 years, most recently at the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention in the area of global polio eradication. It was fulfilling, wonderful work that I believed--and still believe--in. However I decided to leave the work-a-day world to pursue the interests close to my heart: home, family, and moving back to my hometown to be close to my aging relatives. I remain interested in international health, particularly the effort to rid the world of polio.
Since January 2006 I returned to my childhood hometown in Central New York state where I battle snow and cold 8 months of the year and try not to grumble about it too much.
