  1. Fancy Food Show Brings Vendors in to Taste From 50 Countries Over 3 Days

Recently I attended the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, however it hosted a number of vendors well beyond the world of food in the BayArea. Global in attendance, vendors showed up to tout their latest and greatest from Asia, South America, Mexico, Europe, Canada, Australia and others. I saw and tasted so many things, my head was spinning by the end of day, as was my stomach.  Read more >

  3. UBER: A Must Have Car 'Service' App When Timing, Attitude & Perception Matter

For those of you who haven't heard of UBER, and because of the name, think it's some funky, hip device, think again. UBER is a car service that is as simple to use as calling a taxi. Many higher end car services require you to call them well in advance and they're often fairly pricey.  Read more >

  4. Tunisian Revolution, Kairouan Style, a Place of Cultural & Artistic Innovation

One year since the start of the Tunisian ‘Revolution’, the city of Kairouan brought a cultural Revolution. The mural project in Kairouan was mobilized and organized by a group called El Khaldounia, based out of the capital Tunis. The project entailed the painting of a 40m x 7m wall positioned just beyond the turrets of the old Medina in Kairouan (place of cultural and artistic innovation since the first Islamic Empires.) The participants had spontaneously asked to take part in the project taking place in their town.  Read more >

  5. Next Time You Pass Through Boston, Here's 10 Boston Restaurants For Serious Foodies

For foodies, a handful of restaurant GREATS in the Boston area (10 to be exact) for those traveling through or who live in New England are below, including menu selections and photos. 6. Steve Wozniak & Leonard Nimoy Add Energy to the Stage at the Temple Bar

I'm a long time fan of the DEMO Conferences and events and have been attending for well over a decade (since the start of their events really, but let's not date myself that much shall we?). This past week, they held an evening event called DEMO Enterprise Disruption at San Francisco's Temple Bay & Nightclub at was so well organized that it felt like a shorter version of their twice-a-year launch events. (in the states that is as they're now doing events around the world).  Read more >

  7. San Francisco Dining: 17 Favorite Restaurants in Mission & Bernal

I like dining in the southern part of San Francisco for many reasons, one of which parking is easier at least mid-week, and they have a more neighborhood feel to them even though I’ve been to a few really great Pac Heights, Richmond, Russian Hill and Castro restaurants (review of a gem in the Castro is coming in the next six weeks) and cafes which most notably have their regulars.  Read more >

  8. Berkeley's Sea Salt for Sustainable Seafood Including Great Oysters & Margaritas

I don’t get to Berkeley (CA) as often as I’d like. On a trip over the bridge from San Francisco earlier this week on a mission to find beat up antique chairs I could restain and mix with several other misfit chairs I own, we fell upon Sea Salt Restaurant that touts not just fresh oysters, but id="mce_marker" oysters from 4-6 during the week.  Read more >

  9. Shopping & Fashion in Paris: My Top Picks

There’s shopping and there’s shopping, and there’s no better place than Paris except for maybe the good ole days in Hong Kong and Singapore, where you can find nearly anything you want, in any color, flavor or shape. The same goes for food in the streets of Paris.  Read more >

  10. 25 Fabulous Restaurants in Paris (Reviews & Photos)

Below are some of my favorite foodie haunts in Paris. This list is a curation of places I have tried over the years, some visits better than others, but like Paris promises again and again, the food is consistently good regardless of what district you find yourself wandering around in. An oldie but goodie I first discovered several years ago is L’Avant Goût Restaurant on 26 rue Bobillot.  Read more >
