  2. Career changes when You're a Caregiver...Lots of Blessings & Surprises

    Caregiving has given me a lot of challenges in life... but a few surprising blessings. It prompted a total career change -- actually multiple career changes -- and opened whole new worlds to me.   When I started on my journey in Caregiverland, I had always thought I would be a journalist for life.   3. Caregiving: How It's Like Being a Mommie

    I've been thinking lately about how caregiving has taught me what it's like to be a mommie. I'm a 40-something woman with infertility issues... so the world of mommies is out of my league. BUT... I did have care of two fragile adults for many years...they turned into my kids in the usual role reversal that caregiving does to ya.   And I think it taught me a lot about what it is like to be a mommie.  Maybe mommies who turned into caregivers for their parents were better prepared for the task than I was.   Has anyone had the same experience?  Read more >
