WHY is there so much sarcasm on kid tv? Dislike.

  • : WHY is there so much sarcasm on kid tv? Dislike.
And disrespect for adults and others in general...yeah, totally agree..DISLIKE.
  • : Really. I'm just incapable of creating a nice looking post. Hopefully content will make up for some of that. Sigh.
Don't give up. I tend to SUCK creating titles to mine. And if it bothers *that* much I just change it. So what. Dont be afraid to get back into your post to move stuff around, update, delete, etc. (Ido it!) This is a great platform to stretch your wings, learn and grow~
Looks fine to me. One thing Denise told me was to avoid putting a photo at the very beginning of the post, because the layout there is narrow -- I have listened to her, for the most part :)
  • : Is it out of line to be upset that a public event to be held at our local food hub says no kids allowed? This screams trend, not change imo.
I would be cranky! I had a similar experience over the weekend and wasn't very nice about it. I felt an extreme urge to blog about it...
@victorias_view I am still cranky about it! I think it's just crazy to exclude kids from something like this. I'm trying to decide what to do, or not do. hmph.
  • : Anyone ever have a post that mentally feels like wrestling a greased up octopus?
    Yes.
    All of the time :)
    Goodness, yes.
what a perfect image- it suggest all sorts of mental slips, slides, curves plus the problem of mental inertia , all at the same time- love it
Yes! And you've described it perfectly.
    ALL. THE. FREAKING. TIME!
Well. Thank goodness I'm not alone!
Also? I wonder if anyone can relate to this. I feel that I am a decent writer but maybe a bad blogger. I really want to have bloggy friends and not just people who "love my blog" (which is great of course) and that's it. How do you encourage a blog community of sorts?
Oh and I mean in a reciprocal way, not just to me. And now I'm replying to myself. good grief.
@bereccah  In my experience, it's easier to find online friends if you focus on meeting people within a small community -- like hanging out in Chatter, or participating in forums like CafeMom and iVillage have. As with any friendship, it takes time and effort to develop -- so don't give up! I think you've probably made a start of it here, in Chatter. :-)
@bereccah  Reply to comments on your blog with replies meant to draw out the discussion. Comment and participate in a meaningful way across other blogs and in chatter/twitter/facebook.
That describes most of my experiences when I sit down to write, especially the ones that I *think* are going to be easy. Or I'll have a really easy first draft and then when I go to revise it turns into a stupid, slippery octopus.
Excellent suggestion. I always reply, and am courteous and friendly, but haven't answered like that much. Um, duh. Thank you!
I hope so. I think part of the challenge is that I find the Blogher site kinda confusing just from an navigation point of view. I think I need Blogher for dummies! But Blogher is actually my favorite blog community so I'd like to get to know people here and appreciate the insight. :-)
It's weird how that works. Usually by the time I write it, it has been about 95% formulated in my head already, which generally means very little editing. But the spaces between post ideas? Totally blank. And then some time it really feels like an out and out grudge match with an octopus!
