  1. 10 Ways to Avoid Organizing Overwhelm

Today debuts a new feature here on BlogHer.  As we move forward into 2010 we'll be answering the question "if you only had 10....".  Topics will be specific to getting organized and achieving balance and order in your life.  I've been chosen to start us off here today but others will join in with their "10" lists to encourage and support you as well over the next couple of weeks.  Read more >

  2. Holiday Housekeeping Tips

When I sat down to write this article on holiday housekeeping tips I had my doubts that I had anything helpful to offer to the topic.  I mean really?  I don't spend a lot of time on housekeeping and I certainly don't stress about it.  But then it occurred to me that the reason I'm able to keep the cleaning to a minimum is due to some of the simple practices I utilize in my home on a regular basis.  These consistent steps, centered around the idea of keeping it simple and not sweating the small stuff, make it possible for me to have my house ready for company in 15 minute  Read more >

  3. Get organized before the holiday rush begins

Many people don't start thinking about the holidays until its right under our nose and then panic sets in because of the amount we want to try and get down in a short period of time.  Every year we say to ourselves, this year will be different and the good news is that with a little advance planning, it can be!  There are 7 weeks until Christmas; the time to get organized is now before the holiday rush kicks in.Where to start  Read more >

  4. So this is my last day here at The Juice and after reading Crabby's hilarious quiz on Six Surprising Things She Learned While Blogging at The Juice This Summer, I thought there is just no way in heck I'm going to be able to top that.  So I'm not even going to try.  BUT I did think a little celebration party was in order and what better way to celebrate than with food.  I don't know about you but I'm always looking for an excuse to eat dessert and this Strawberry Banana Trifle recipe is absolutel  Read more >

  5. I LOVED this week's Juice video about healing with humor.  It is chock full of tips to help you bring out the laughter in your day.  Jory interviews Terri Tate, an inspirational woman who beat many odds in her life and dealt with them head on with humor.  Some of Terri's tips include surrounding yourself with humor by hanging out with funny people, acting more like a kid and changing your perspective on things.  Read more >

  6. On Tuesday I blogged about some yummy homemade yet easy treats you can make to bring to friends and neighbors as part of "give more, get more" week here on The Juice.  Today I want to talk further about random acts of kindness and how to get your kids involved.   Read more >

  7. This week the Juice discussion is about giving more and getting more out of relationships.  I watched the video with Christine Koh from Boston Mamas and she had some great tips for how to reach out to others including practicing random acts of kindness and making homemade gifts for friends.  As a mom to three, I wanted to be able to incorporate both of these activities into meaningful lessons for my kids on a regular basis.  That's when we came up with the idea of cookie  Read more >

  8. Almost two months ago I experienced a devastating loss when my best friend of 27 years lost her 9 year old son.  No one is ever ready for something like that because it hits you so hard and so fast and it literally takes your breath away and leaves you reeling.  Having not ever gone through anything this devastating before I was so grateful for those who stepped up to help us through those first couple of weeks as we muddled our way through all that needed to be done.  In particular, having meals delivered to the house was an amazing blessing to the family.  Here are  Read more >

  9. As a Professional Organizer it usually comes as a surprise to many when I tell them I have a collection of something.   Thankfully it's a consumable collection but it's still a collection nonetheless.  I'm addicted to hair products and due to the miracle of beauty these products claim to possess I have all sorts of trouble parting with them.  Read more >

  10. This week the Juice topic is workplace relationships and how to manage them.  As I sat here pondering how to address an issue I haven't been a part of in over 4 years I got a little contemplative and jittery thinking about that time in my life.  Thankfully the feeling only lasted a moment.  You see, I've come a long way since those days.  Not only do I happen to love my job as a stay at home mom and the slower pace of life that has happen  Read more >

About Me:

Hi, my name is Laura, otherwise known as Org Junkie.  I'm an organizing addict and I love to get others "hooked" along with me. I'm a Professional Organizer by trade and a mom by love.  I have three great kids that provide me plenty of organizing material each and every day.  What I love most about organizing is the "high" I get from it so I'm always on the look out for my next "fix".  Crumbs on the floor wouldn't bother me but a pile of papers on the table would drive me crazy!!

I'd love to have you come on over and say hi on my blog I'm an Organizing Junkie or visit me at The Juice here on BlogHer where I contribute stories and tips on getting and doing more for less.
