    On the old "Leave it to Beaver" show, Ward Cleaver arrived home from work at the end of the day to hear about what went on with everybody, and spend maybe an hour or two with his kids before bed.  He never had more than a vague idea about what his kids were up to, but that was okay because his wife, June Cleaver, had things well in hand.  Read more >

    It's taken me quite a long time to be willing to talk about my situation publicly.  Given what I do for a living (I'm an executive coach) I have felt that I might be criticized or considered an imposter for not having my personal life all figured out.  I have felt embarrassed - mostly because of the money issues that have accompanied our shift from a two-income to a one-income family, but also because I have not known how to answer the "what does your husband do?" question comfortably.  And I've felt a  Read more >

    Greetings, Blogher community!  First post, have to admit to being a little nervous as I begin.  I've decided to blog about my life because I know that my challenges are shared by an increasing number of women so I thought I'd start to talk about them here and see what happens.  What I'm hoping for, eventually, are responses and comments that help all of us who find ourselves in my situation - not by design, but just because life is like that sometimes.  Read more >
