  1. My "Betty Crocker" Inlaws

Probably everyone on here that's married has a story about their inlaws & their quirks. So here's mine. Ever since I started dating my husband, I noticed that my now inlaws have been the crafy types. The classic 1950s family that always had a fresh pie in the window & was constantly working on a quilt. These are my inlaws & no I'm not exaggerating. Every time I'd visit whether it was a holiday or not, there it was, a plate of cookies just out of the oven. What was my mother in law working on? A quilt. What were on the walls? Framed embroidery & needlepoint.  Read more >

  2. The Young Housewife Stigma

I was in a job that I absolutely hated for a year & a half. My husband saw how unhappy I was & he was the one that suggested I should quit my job under the condition that I find something to to whether it brings income in or not. It was a tough transition that I still struggle with but I am glad I get to give back to the community by volunteering & also take up some hobbies that I never got the chance to. I keep busy mostly every weekday and I love taking care of the house for some twisted reason.  Read more >

  3. This is a Safe Neighborhood, Right?

I’ve been debating about writing this blog entry. Food blog or not, writing has always been a release for me for as long as I can remember. So here goes a non food blog.  Read more >

  4. Ipad vs Netbook: The Verdict

It's been two weeks since I started my great iPad vs Netbook debate. The winner? Well, the iPad came in with a slight lead.Reason being was the battery life & the power. It also helped that my husband assisted me with the purchase of the case and keyboard. I have to laugh at myself because I just thought the iPad was an oversized iPhone. While it is, it won't replace my iPhone or my Desktop for that matter. In fact, it's a good go between. I do like the fact that it's very lightweight.  Read more >

  5. iPad vs Netbook: The Battle Wages On

At first I dismissed the iPad as an overgrown iPhone. After all, that's what it looks like. Aside from the fact you can't call anyone from it, it's pretty much an iPhone on steroids. So I talked to my husband about it a little bit. Since he's the computer genius in the family, he should tell me the difference & help me make a decision right? Well, not exactly. He just told me that a netbook & an iPad are smaller & more portable than laptops & unlike laptops, they weigh less, have a longer battery life & can only do minimal things like surf the net.   Read more >

  7. Finally at Peace- Just Keep on Smiling

I worked since I was 16 years old. I just got so used to it. Especially when I worked in the restaurant industry where i easily put in 50 hours a week. I got back to the industry that I went to school for: Entertainment & Media. Well, unfortunately, everyone & their mother also is interested in that field here in Los Angeles. I sent out my resume to what I felt was every company in the LA metro area. I finally landed a job with an ad agency. Unfortunately it was not a creative job, it was a lot of data entry.  Read more >

About Me:

I'm a 20 something girl in Los Angeles. Having moved here three years ago I've set out to not only get to know the streets of California but the eats as well. I've been compelled to write my story, let's see how far it takes me!

I write the restaurant review blog South Bay Rants n Raves focusing on restaurant reviews in the South Bay & Greater LA area. I've recently started volunteering for an after school program in which we help young girls with their self esteem and manners, it's been so rewarding to me, definitely makes me feel happy!

I've also been keeping busy by taking up hobbies I haven't had a chance to in recent years due to work and life! These hobbies are guitar & figure skating. I love both, they make me smile.
