  1. Spring is in the Air

The first weekend of March brought sunshine to Toronto and lured everyone out of hibernation. On the way to St.Lawrence Market we saw dozens of joggers and cyclists taking advantage of the warmer temperatures. To our surprise fresh spring vegetables were for sale too, marking the end of the "hungry gap". What signs of spring have you noticed in your neighbourhood?  Read more >

  2. Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution

I remember back when I was in university, screaming girls would line up to have Jamie Oliver, "The Naked Chef" autograph his latest cookbook. These days I would be one of the first in line to promote his cause. His current mission is to fight the obesity epidemic by inspiring families to cook, educating kids about food and improving how they eat at school. Last weekend I watched his passionate talk at TED, and wanted to share it here because I agree with his food philosophy.  Read more >

About Me:

I have always loved trying new recipes, but sometimes after a long day at work, I just want to eat! During the day I work in research lab and conclusive experimental results sometimes take weeks. What I love about cooking is that I get to see and taste the results of my experiments relatively fast. Since I am health conscious]and environmentally aware, I won't eat any old convenience food. Eating well takes a little time but a slow cooker makes it easy to come home to nutritious meals.

Last year my husband and I bought a slow cooker, and we are welcomed by incredible aromas and a ready-to-eat dinner. I know many people have a slow cooker stashed away collecting dust, and I want to share my successful recipes and inspire them to re-discover its benefits. I also hope my posts help anyone struggling to find time to prepare their own meals. It takes a little planning, but it is well worth it when you consider the quality of food you eat and the precious time that it frees up. What would you with your free time?

We love going for long hikes on the weekend to exercise our dog (and ourselves) and we work up quite an appetite!

I hope you enjoy my site and food :)
