  1. Chaos yes but we live here too!

So I've been a little busy lately to blog. I know it's a cop out but my life really has been chaotic... Ever since our new addition Arrived a year and a half ago. I went from a hardworking mom with 2 fairly independent teens with a lot of free time & freedom...to adding a tween who is adjusting to a new family, new language, new culture & life. He has with multiple health issues related to his injuries that were sustained in the 2010 Earthquake in Haiti. He requires a lot of help and close supervision.  Read more >

  2. Bad Blogger?

How do you know if you are a "Bad Blogger"? I think the shoe fits right now, as my last blog post was a long time ago. I haven't gotten any hate mail so no one is too awfully upset. I do have good reason, if it matters. My life as I knew it changed 8 weeks ago. I would like to say for the record: I was on maternity leave.  Now those of you who know me personally know I had a hystrectomy in January. You might be asking how is that possible?  Read more >

  3. Trading Spaces: Bloggy Style

I was recently challenged by my real life friend & fellow blogger ( http://desperatelyseekingsanity.com/ ) Heather, to come out of my comfort zone (do I have one yet?) and trade blog posts with another blogger.  Read more >

  4. Charity Starts at Home or in Haiti?

    Haiti

On Jan 12, There was an Earthquake, the lives of the the people of Haiti are now changed, Forever! My life is changed, and I don't live in Haiti. My life is changed by what I've seen, what I've done. The people are amazing & inspire me to do more, even now that I am at home. I have a nice home, a comfortable bed, running water & indoor plumbing, and lots of creature comforts. I am not living in a tent, it is not the rainy season, or hurricane season here.  Read more >

  5. Women of Haiti: Christine

Women of Haiti: Christine (Blogger's Picture)

How do you start a story like Christine's? Just being the mother of five -- or a mother in Haiti -- would be challenge enough. Now imagine being the mother of five, in Haiti, and one of your children, Christopher, having a medical condition needing treatment not available in Haiti. I can only imagine.  Read more >

  6. Women of Haiti: Renette

    Renette in Haiti

I met Renette on my second day in Haiti. We didn't get to know her as well as our other patient's mother, but she touched my heart in a special way. I continue to pray for her and think of her everyday. I met Renette when we received patients from the USNS Comfort. She accompanied her infant son Easia. He was suffering from some kind of unknown neurological problem and was developmentally delayed. What a beautiful family. Renette and her son Easia.  Read more >

  7. Women of Haiti: Momma V

On my recent trip to Haiti I was inspired by so many women...But I would be remiss if I didn't start here. Vanessa Carpenter has 17 children. She has fostered over 150 children. People call her "Momma V". She is an amazing woman, an incredible mother, a friend to all she meets, Unless you are standing in the way of something she wants. (Then you'd better watch out.) and a Super Hero!  Read more >

  8. Haiti on the horizon

A Gentle Reminder to the reader that this is my 2nd Blog entry...  One week from today, I will embark on an incredible life experience in Earthquake ravaged Haiti. I am a Neonatal ICU Nurse, and I am part of a 13 member team of local Doctors, Nurses, and other medical professionals that will spend 10 days on a medical missions trip in Port Au Prince.   Read more >

  9. Looking towards Haiti

Ok, so I'm STILL trying to get the hang of this blogging thing.    I am excited beyond words to be going to Hati and assisting in the relief efforts as a Nurse. I was "venting" on FB about not feeling like I was able to do much...Next thing I know I have an email from a Friend saying that if I really am serious about going, to contact this person.           Wow~ It took me about 10 seconds to decide I wanted to go.  Read more >
