Valentine Chocolate Box Makeover

They sure don't make a box of Valentine's chocolates like they used to. They may taste the same, but the boxes sure don't look as cute. The boxes of yesteryear were adorned with lace, fake flowers, velvet ribbons - the perfect amount of kitsch to be romantic. Never fear fancy fun chocolate boxes can be yours again!
First of all you will need a box of chocolates, some glue and festive fun Valentine themed craft supplies.
My boxes were inspired by a project from a magazine I happen to be the editor of called Kids Crafts 1-2-3. Issue #3 is on shelves now at Walmart chocked full of Valentine projects for kids, but there were these adorable owl Christmas ornaments in the last issue by Midwest Maude that kept calling to me. I never got around to making the owls as ornaments so I thought I would incorporate them in for Valentine's Day.
Using my supplies I got busy. The first thing I did was enlarge a picture of the owl ornament from the magazine and print it out to use as a template. I used scrapbooking paper to cover the box and a combo of craft supplies to spice things up.
What started as a boring box of chocolates ended up as something so adorable I can't bear to part with it.
