Nothing says holidays like the traditional green bean casserole. From the time you see the cream of mushroom soup cans on the counter, to the sprinkling of fried onions on top-you know family and friends are coming to dinner.
Many families have their own take on this classic dish, and BlogHer's are no exception. CityMama Stefania Pomponi Butler shows us her simple and scrumptious green bean dish sure to please even the pickiest of guests. But wait...Stefania is NOT the only BlogHer featured!

Confession
By: sassymonkey Posted: 27 weeks 1 day agoThe traditional green bean casserole scares me. lol It's something I had never heard of before message boards and blogs (I'm Canadian...). And if you've never heard of it before it just sounds FRIGHTENING. I've never tried it so maybe I'm wrong. ;)
But the dish in the video looks really yummy!

Where is the recipe shown??
By: debra roby Posted: 25 weeks 4 days agoOk, the video shows the recipe with the pancetta and not the persimmons. Is that one available somewhere? Or I do just substitute the pancetta for the persimmons??

Yummy green beans
By: shanbrentris Posted: 21 weeks 3 days agoI have the B.E.S.T. green bean recipe! It sounds super complex, but it's not, really, and the green beans are to DIE for! I make it for every holiday.
The recipe is here: http://whiskeyinmysippycup.blogspot.com/2007/11/rate-hate-one-day-year-w...
You have to scroll down a bit, to the Veggies section.

Green Beans
By: Daisy Posted: 21 weeks 3 days agoMy favorite isn't actually the green bean casserole. If we have enough beans from the garden, I wash, dice, and freeze them, and then put them in the steamer in the middle of winter. Mmm, there's nothing better than a taste of summer when there's snow covering the ground!

Green Bean Casserole Twist
By: SAM Posted: 21 weeks 23 hours agoInstead of onions for the topper, we use broken up Ruffles potato chips.
I do that too!
