Vintage Sheet Music Envelopes

This weekend I made up several sets of envelopes and notecards using vintage sheet music from the 20's. I took some step by step photos and thought I'd share my process.

First, here's a couple shots of the vintage music book I used for my paper:

Now, the first step is to make a template. You may have an envelope maker board, but I like to be thrifty and just made my own template from an envelope I had. Mine is A2 sized. I opened up the envelope carefully and traced it onto a piece of card stock:

I then used the template to trace the outline of the envelope onto the sheet music. Then I cut it out.

Next step is to use a bone folder and score the lines for the folds in the envelope along the sides, top, and bottom.

Finally, I took some Elmer's craft bond glue from Dollar Tree and glued the bottom to the side flaps.

I added some thick card stock cut to size, with the corners rounded, for a complete set of note cards.
