Warning: Television Is About To Get Worse

It is actually possible for television to fall further into it's dark abyss.

I had to share this interesting post I found on Los Angeles' Craigslist.org about "Mom's Club", a great new show about 'Amazing Moms' currently in production.

"Mom's Club" casting posted on Craigslist 1-3-11. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/tfr/2141415766.html:

We are looking for Amazing Moms!

Are you a mom between the ages 21-29 that loves your children but also loves having a social life? We want to hear your story!

Does any of this sound familiar?

• You go out at least 2-3 nights a week
• You never miss a party
• You keep up with your girlfriends, socially
• If single, you can manage a busy dating schedule
• You have drama with boyfriends, baby daddy’s or husbands

If so, please send us your photo and a letter describing your life as a mom. Please be specific, descriptive and honest. You could be eligible to participate for our reality docu-soap about the lives of moms.

To apply or nominate someone you know, email a photo and a short description to:

losangelescastingcall@gmail.com

Please put MOM’S CLUB in the subject line of your e-mail.

Of course, I had to respond. I wonder why they didn't pick me?:

To Mom's Club Casting Staff,

I am an Amazing Mom between the ages 32-34 that loves my child but also loves having a social life and planning world domination.

• I go out at least 2-3 nights a week to take out the trash
• I never miss a 3-year-old's party
• I keep up with my girlfriends, socially
• I have a drama-free life with my husband

And I am very tired of seeing moms on television the way people seem to want to see us -- as mindless, leg-opening idiots. Sounds like you have a pretty *cough* "original" idea on your hands with this show.

I want to tell you my story!

Amazing Moms READ, Amazing Moms watch intelligent TV, too (if there were such a thing)! But really who cares about any of those things? The masses will continue to be force-fed typical trash like this to watch anyway.

You may have already dozed off because I have not entertained you with any random, drunken escapades. But if I still have your attention I would like you to know 'Amazing Moms' can exist at the center business, politics, economics and religion instead of how everyone seems to know us -- on the outside -- and often holding on for dear life to another person's bad ideas.

Case in point: this carbon copy t.v. show.

Redefining the path to becoming a Mom and empowering Moms all over the world has become my passion. If I could only find a producer with the same agenda.

I hope you have found me specific, descriptive, honest and camera-ready. I am dreaming of a day that I could be eligible to participate in a reality docu-soap about the "inspiring" lives of moms.

I won't hold my breath. At 33 and of sane mind, body and spirit, I am clearly too old and ordinary to be relevant.

Sincerely,

Heather
