We All Get Overwhelmed + a Free Printable

I’m going to be honest with you. We all get overwhelmed. I don’t care if you’re supermom, there is no denying it.

Unfortunately for a lot of people, including myself, this time of year can be the most suffocating.

Money. All of the decorating, cooking, baking, and gift buying. It can be overwhelming.

Travel. Just the thought of packing up my family for a road trip makes me exhausted.

But aren’t you glad that all of that is not the reason we are getting ready to celebrate Christmas? Christ doesn’t leave us exhausted and overwhelmed. He is a place of peace and rest.

So, the next time I’m feeling overwhelmed thinking about all of the things I need to get ready for Christmas I am going to try to stop myself. What good are our works if Christ is not in them? What good is our faith if we forget what all of the Christmas hype is really for?

I’m so glad that I can have this first Christmas as a mother. I want to savor it. I don’t want it to fly by. I don’t want to be so worried about Hannah receiving the right gifts that we forget to show her the joy of our Savior’s birth.

I have hope that Christmas can become a time of reflection and stillness. I hope you can find that, too.
