Biscuits are one of those wonderfully comforting foods that really do taste good all year round. They're also easy to make, and so adaptable that no matter what your eating preferences or dietary needs, I'm betting you can find a type of biscuit you'll like. When I went looking for biscuit options, I found so many that sounded good; why not put some biscuits on your menu this weekend?

Just in case you haven't made biscuits before, let's start with a very informative post from Pinch My Salt about How to Make Buttermilk Biscuits from Scratch. This post has tips for making perfect biscuits, step-by-step photos with instructions, and a recipe for fluffy buttermilk biscuits.

You can guess that a blog called Homesick Texan would have a pretty darn good recipe for Biscuits, but you may never have imagined the supreme deliciousness of Biscuits with Chocolate Gravy.

When I make biscuits or pie crust, or anything that requires the butter to be incorporated into flour for that matter, I grate frozen butter. It mixes in nicely and is more protected against my tendency to overwork.

Biscuits and jam sounds mighty good right now!

. . . between the vegan biscuits from Holy Cow! or the gluten-free sweet potato ones! Dilemmas, dilemmas . . .

And I agree about the savory biscuits (and maybe a bit of cheese too!)

I really love all kind of biscuits, but I think my favorites are savory ones with chopped herbs. There are several great-looking options here.

My mom did make homemade bread every week, but biscuits were a rare treat in our house.

I don't know if I can think of a single meal at our place (and my grandmother's for that matter) where biscuits weren't available. Even if they weren't on the table they were on the cupboard or, worst-case scenario, a few could be pulled out of the freezer and popped in the microwave to defrost.

Nothing beats a biscuit with butter and homemade strawberry jam. Except maybe a biscuit with butter, homemade strawberry jam and a slice of cheese on the side.

I'm pretty sure I don't have the biscuit gene either. Now I need an expert to make them for me. (Dara, are you there?)

I can make Bisquick biscuits ok but usually just pop open a tube of the ready made ones. I am dying to try the chocolate gravy though.

I honestly believe some people have the gene for biscuit making, and some (like me) struggle with biscuit dough! Fortunately one of my cooking buddies is a world class biscuit maker, so I yield to her superior ability, and I am happy to help with the eating and clean-up!

I was just going to make normal biscuits on Father's Day morning. Now? HOW TO CHOOSE!

I agree 100%, I love biscuits! I may not make them, but when I have a chance to eat some I can't pass them up!

I sure hope TW makes you some biscuits!

I think this might be my favorite of all of your weekend menu planning posts.

I LOVE BISCUITS.

I WANT BISCUITS.

Also, I'm really hungry right now, heh. When TW comes home, I will convince her to make me a batch of biscuits. Thank you, Kalyn.
