The pumpkin recipes continue with more tasty ideas for cooking with pumpkin. I started with Pumpkin Soup, Chili, Stew, and Drinks, and then I featured Savory Pumpkin Recipes for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. There are two more weeks to drool over pumpkin recipes and many people associate pumpkins with sweet treats, so this week I'm back with pumpkin recipes for cupcakes, cookies, cakes, sweet breads, and muffins. If you like to make zucchini bread or banana bread, making pumpkin bread is just as easy, and the Pumpkin Bread from Simply Recipes has nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice to accent the pumpkin flavor. Elise says sugar pumpkin, butternut squash, or Japanese Kabocha pumpkin will all be perfect to make the puree for this recipe, or use canned pumpkin puree if you prefer.
