Even though the seasons don't actually change for several weeks, most people regard Labor Day as the unofficial end of summer. It's also one of those traditional grilling holidays when just about everyone who has a grill will be firing it up. Burgers on the grill are such a timeless summer tradition that it seems only fitting I share some new burger options you might like to include on your menu this holiday weekend.

Let's start with Blue Cheese Stuffed Burgers from Sarah's Cucina Bella. Sarah first made these on a night when it was so hot she didn't feel like cooking, but she had burgers on her menu, so she went ahead with the plan. Apparently the blue cheese burgers were worth the trouble, because Sarah reports she's had them several times since.

Terry from Blue Kitchen makes Spicy Turkey Burgers with cumin, chile powder, and a bit of jalapeno pepper sauteed and mixed into the meat. For another spicy touch, Terry suggests serving them with a bit of salsa on the bun.

Frantic Home Cook also has the spicy thing going on with Crusted Poblano Burgers, with a grilled poblano chile pepper tucked inside the meat. This burger is also served with salsa.

Another spicy burger option is the Jamaican Jerk Burgers from Simply Recipes. Jerk seasoning is a spice mix that's made fiery by the addition of Scotch Bonnet peppers, and just a little goes a long ways. In this recipe only 1/2 of a pepper is used to spice up six burgers. The burgers are served with a coleslaw mixture to cool down your mouth.
