This past weekend was pretty spectacular in my opinion. On Friday night I went to Millennium Park with Kevin and met up with some friends for a classical music concert. We enjoyed some appetizers, desserts and wine and celebrated my friend Lauren's birthday.

After the concert Kevin and I felt like staying around downtown, so we went to Fado Irish Pub in River North. Fado happens to be right across the street from a restaurant that has quite a bit of significance for us:
That is Maggiano's, the restaurant where we will be having our wedding reception in November! I just had to snap a photo. Anyway, we had a great time at Fado. The Olympic Opening Ceremonies were on and I was so happy I got to see most of it. People at the bar were really getting into it, cheering for their favorite countries and of course saving their biggest cheers for the United States. Kevin and I got an appetizer while there, the corned beef rolls and they were amazing--highly recommend!
I went to spin class on Saturday morning and then had a rather lazy day. Kevin and I decided to go to Wicker Park Fest in the evening and we had a really nice time. We had an interesting dinner from Cevapcici, sausages made of beef, pork and lamb on naan bread with onions and a roasted red pepper sauce. The sausage was decent, kinda weird though, but I loved the roasted red pepper sauce--so good! And apparently Cevapcici does not have an actual restaurant, they are only at street festivals and they also have a stand at Comiskey Park. Quite interesting.
On Sunday I did laundry and cleaned the house--it needed it desperately! I managed to get in a run in the afternoon and then Kevin and I decided to stay in, order Chinese food and watch the Olympics--I mean, come on, gymnastics was on! Wasn't feeling too thrilled about work this morning, but at least there is a lot of Olympic action to look forward to in the evening!
