I knew I was doing it all wrong when I saw the proper instructions for how to weigh oneself!

No wonder I was gaining weight each week!  I was getting so frustrated, and all along I was standing on the scale.  Duh!

Seriously though, today I stepped on the scale, and……tada!  Lost 0.8 pounds.  Feels like more than a small victory!  I’ve been working my butt off and enjoying getting back into working out again.  Also trying to eat 1/2 the amount I was before.  I find it is so hard to judge how much is actually going into my body, when I have rushed through every meal for the past 14.5 months.  I wonder if I’ve even tasted anything that entire time?

As for working out, because Poppet is super busy these days, I’ve taken to performing the following workout as it can be broken up into smaller chunks, or doubled if I have the time:

100 jumping jacks

10 crunches

10 squats

10 push ups

10 bench dips

10 head lifts

30 second plank

30 second wall sit

30 second back stretch

75 jumping jacks

10 head lifts

10 bench dips

10 push ups

10 squats

10 crunches

25 jumping jacks

It is a great workout, combining cardio with strength training using your own body weight.  I love it because I can do it even when we are on the road since there is no extra equipment required.  The idea is to work your way through the list as fast as you can, and then repeat it if you have the time.  I have it down to 9 minutes for each time through.  Feel free to record your times in the comments below!

As I forgot to measure myself last week, the inches lost tape has not moved.  I am taking out my measuring tape as we speak and will use today as my starting point.

I know I have not yet won the war, merely a little battle, but it felt SO good when I saw the scale move today.  I would still love to have a sponsorship from a gym in Guelph with free child care, or a local personal trainer,  or through a natural weight loss program (wouldn’t we all?)  Until then I will persevere with Poppet as my personal trainer!

Warmest regards,
