Welcome! Introduce yourself.

I'm new to creating a group here, but not new to the internet and blogging.

I'm a happily married mom of a sweet 1 year old girl.  I cook full-time at a senior health center (aka, nursing home).  I love my job, and I love my family.  But it is hard at times.  I missed her first rolls (at home with daddy), her first teeth (at grandma's house), and first babble (again with daddy).  She's growing up so fast, I'm afraid sometimes that I'll miss all the "good stuff" as she grows.

My husband has a disability that prevents him from having a full-time job.  He tried, oh he tried his hardest, but it just wasn't working.  He does get some other income by being a freelance contractor of sorts (photography, scanning, computer repair), but it just wasn't cutting it if I stayed at home.  So I work, gaining the benefits of a dental plan thus far, and hopefully medical coverage down the road.  I also plan on going back to school and get a degree for a medical assistant.

So what is your story? Any tips for readers? What works for you and why?
