Welcoming a Belle in Brooklyn to BlogHer: Demetria Lucas to Interview Kerry Washington

BlogHer Original Post

As we announced back in back in February, actress, activist, style icon, social media gladiator, and new mom Kerry Washington will keynote BlogHer '14 this July.

Today, I'm excited to reveal that Demetria Lucas, also known as A Belle in Brooklyn, will be interviewing Kerry and digging in to all of the above topics with her typical candor and enthusiasm.

Welcoming a Belle in Brooklyn to BlogHer: Demetria Lucas to Interview Kerry Washington

In addition to the above-mentioned blog, Demetria is the author of A Belle in Brooklyn: The Go-to Girl for Advice on Living Your Best Single Life and the soon to be released Don’t Waste Your Pretty: The Go-to Guide For Making Smarter Decisions in Life & Love, as well the founder of Coached By Belle, a boutique life-coaching service, where Demetria helps clients solve their dating dilemmas and build healthy relationships. Demetria is also a contributing editor for The Root, where she pens two weekly dating and relationship advice columns, "Ask Demetria” and “She Matters,” and is a contributing writer for the websites of The Grio, XO Jane, Essence, Clutch, Vibe Vixen and Uptown.

Demetria's list of guest appearances, awards, accolades, speaking engagements, and academic degrees is long and impressive. To name just a few? Demetria was named one of “the Blogosphere’s Best” by Black Enterprise Magazine, selected among "30 Black Bloggers You Should Know" by The Root, picked as one of Essence.com's “40 Fierce & Fab Under 40”, and her blog was awarded Best Personal Blog in the 2010 Black Weblog Awards. And that's really only a small slice of Demetria's blogging and media cred. Check out the full list here.

For me, the takeaway is that Demetria is smart, savvy, and ready to get personal with Kerry and the rest of us!

So, if you were Demetria, what would you ask Kerry? Let her (and us) know in the comments!
