West Coast Inspiration: How We Began Remodeling Our Master Bedroom

For our honeymoon, we ventured to the great West Coast, and settled in Newport Beach, Oregon for a while.

The Sylvia Beach Hotel, a hotel for book lovers, was our home for the week, and it was lovely!

We took the romantic F Scott Fitzgerald room, with it's ocean view from above and it's blue, gold, and lace accents all around.

We were very fortunate to return again our first year of marriage, for the wedding of a dear friend of mine. We took the Tolkien room that stay, and enjoyed every bit of it.

We'd go every year if we could, but for us it isn't realistic at this time. What's realistic is... making our bedroom honey moon themed! With blue "Rain" by Sherwin Williams walls, a poster of the hotel seen above, light curtains, romantic accents, and of course, books all around!

Is there a place your heart loves? Start there with your room theme! Especially if you carried home a souvenir like we did, be inspired by it!

How will we tie it all in with our primitive farmhouse look just outside our master bedroom door? Not sure, but it will come together in time. The vintage, F Scott Fitzgerald feel helps :).

If you're stuck on a room, pick a place, or even a person, that inspires you, and go! I mean, don't go there, unless you want to, but go with it, and see your room come alive ;).

Have a wonderful, inspiring weekend!

Sweetly Yours,
