There just never seems to be enough time in the day. But even so, we still need to make time to sleep. In fact, getting a good night sleep is just what we need to be at or best during those precious waking hours.

The question is...

Are you getting enough sleep?

We all know that in order to be healthy (and happy) we need to get enough sleep. But still, most of us either don’t get enough sleep or our quality of sleep is lacking.

It's no secret that I don't like sleep. I feel like it is a major waste of time. I rarely turn out my light before 12:30 pm and have to get up at 6 am. I like resting (as most couch potatoes do) but the act of sleeping is something I have fought all my life. My mom used to beg me to go to bed when I was younger.

Well, last night I was extremely tired and began to doze while trying to watch a little TV. I fell asleep with my clothes on at 9:30 pm and woke up at 9 am today. Guess what? I felt fantastic! Sleep Like A Baby Bath Recipe: This recipe is from Mary Muryn book Water Magic which I talk about below.

  • A handful of chamomile flowers
  • 2 warm chamomile tea bag for your eyes
  • 1 cup of chamomile tea
  • Optional extra: homeopathy remedy of chamomile

Soak your fresh chamomile flowers in a bowl of hot water for 20 minutes. Place your face over the bowl with a towel over your head. Enjoy inhaling the calming qualities of the chamomile for a few minutes.

Scoop off the flowers and pour the water into your bath. Place two warm chamomile tea bags over your eyes. Make yourself a cup of chamomile tea. If you really want to evoke the healing qualities of chamomile you can add a few pellets (or drops) of the homeopathic remedy chamomile.

Focus on your breathe and allow your body to surrender.

Taking a bath is something you may have already related to a good night sleep. But have you considered yoga?

So in the effort to balance our lives we would also need to practice some yoga in the evening. I recommend practicing pre-dinner or at least 2 hours after you eat so you don't get nauseous. A gentle approach works best for evening yoga so we do not over excite our systems before we catch some ZZZZZZZZs.

To ensure a good night sleep, naps are really not recommended. However, sometimes it can't be avoided.

The bottom line: If you’re feeling sleep deprived, unwell and run down, a power nap might be exactly what you need. Napping will renew your energy, increase alertness, decrease fatigue and make you more productive the rest of the day. So, what are you waiting for? Don’t spend another day staring at your computer screen suffering and being unproductive. Take a nap! As long as it won’t get you fired, of course.
