Researchers have found that those who were married or living with a
partner from mid-life through later life were much less likely to
develop Alzheimer's than those living alone. Those who were single
throughout life had twice the risk for developing the disease, while
those divorced from mid-life onward were three times as likely to
develop Alzheimer's. Those who were widowed from mid-life onward were
actually six times more likely to develop the disease than those
married or living with a partner from mid- to later life.
Do we single women really need one more reason to freak out about being single? I am going to look into this research more and see how many people where included in this study. Isn't it amazing how researchers are able to figure these things out for us. It seems like this study implies that we can do one more thing to be proactive against Alzheimers. What are your thoughts on this one? Thanks for sharing. Kim

Scrabble Anyone?
Thanks so much for info. What a downer. I wonder how the data comes out in a male/female breakdown? Maybe all of us single women should join Scrabble clubs so we can keep Alzheimer's at bay together.
