What Goes Around Comes Around

In Europe it seems as though there are merry-go-rounds in almost every plaza or park. This is all-year. I don't even see this in the summer in NYC other than in
Central Park and come on, that doesn't really count because Central Park has everything. Wouldn't it be lovely to see a merry-go-round in Union Square or Washington Square Park. Little kids live all over the city and I think adults would enjoy them too. Of course in Manhattan they might charge $15 to go on for 5 minutes but it would be a pleasant addition to the city in summer. Plus, who doesn't like the sound of kids playing and having fun? It's pleasant. My building is sandwiched by an elementary school and a city park, and since I work from home, during the week I hear kidlets laughing and yelling during recess and for about an hour after school and in the summer I hear them playing in the park and running in their bathing suits and clogs through the hose that spews water all day. The kids playing is just white noise in my neighborhood...kind of like sirens during the day and deliver trucks at night racing down the avenue.
Yes, a merry-go-round would be nice indeed. Even if you don't like kids, it might remind you of when you were one and didn't have so much stress that life and the city can give us. Back then it seemed like a short ride on a merry-go-round was the key to solving everything. It made your day...at least for me.
Mayor Bloomberg, what do you say?
Missing Persons - Destination Unknown
Today's soundtrack is inspired by my favorite show (ie. guilty pleasure) at the moment: Gossip Girl. This week they did a series of flashbacks to Lily's life in the 80s in LA. Okay, I'm not sure how I feel about it yet because I don't think they should have forced the spin-off on us but whatever...I love that show so much that I forgive them. The clothes! The snarky comments! New York! What's not to love? By the way, if you love it as much as I do, then you MUST check out New York Magazine's Daily Intel Gossip Girl Reality Index every Tuesday. And, while you're at it,
check out this little ditty that I found this week. If you're a fan, you won't be sorry. I'm so excited for next week's episode (even though it's the season finale-sigh)...it looks like it's going to be a doozy.
Happy Hump Day! ta...
