The 54th annual Grammy Awards aired on CBS this Sunday. Did you watch the show? It was a strange mix of exuberance, music and memorial. The day before the recording industry lost one of its biggest stars, when it was announced that Whitney Houston had passed away at the age of 48. The audience at the Los Angeles Staples Center still seemed ready to rock, with a house packed full of celebrities. The show lasted three and a half hours.

Adele swept the 54th Annual Grammy Awards Sunday night taking home six trophies including album of the year for 21 and record of the year and song of the year for "Rolling in the Deep."

The best comment I've seen so far came from our own Morgan Shanahan who sent out a plea to CBS to give the West Coast a live version of the show and start the darn thing at 5pm. It's just stupid that practically the whole country gets to watch in real time (and Tweet their brains out about it) and music mecca L.A. has to wait for tape delay. There should be a law in the age of social media that all award shows have to be telecast live!

Jane Collins I have to confess that I didn't watch the grammy's and I haven't in many years. I usually hear the results from everyone else. But I believe that you and Morgan make an excellent point.

Thank you for the report, Jane!

I watched in disbelief ... it was an awful show ... Bonnie Raitt, Paul M, the Beach Boys, were the best performers; I'm happy for Adele, she was the best of the bunch, I just dont care fir her style or voice, at least she's got something; but I simply could not understand why a woman-beater and such non-talents as Minaj and KP were there, and what was Taylor Swift thinking?

Paul McCartney's jam at the end. And Adele. She seems so unspoiled.

Seeing the look of awe on all those musicians face at the end of Adele's performance. Perfectly splendid.
