What's the Least Expensive Way to Buy Diapers?

WHAT’S THE LEAST EXPENSIVE WAY TO BUY DIAPERS?
Often I get asked the question, what is the least expensive and most convenient way to buy diapers? While this seems like a simple proposition, with all of the sign-ups, rewards programs and offers from the websites and big box stores it’s actually not that clear cut. I’ve taken a little time to look at the two biggest sites for diaper shopping - Amazon.com and Diapers.com and come up with the most savvy way to buy diapers. The comparison of the two sites below involves one case of Pampers Swaddlers XL, Size One, 234 Count.
Amazon has two different sign up options, Subscribe and Save and Amazon Moms with Amazon Prime.
Subscribe and Save:
Sign up for a delivery schedule of diapers that you can cancel at any time (ie. one delivery per month). This is free and entitles you to 5% off your diaper purchase.
The price for Subscribe and Save is $44.64 or $.19 per diaper, however this does not factor in id="mce_marker"3.73 in delivery charges for 3-5 day delivery or $21.52 for 2 day delivery.
With 2-day delivery this is $.28 per diaper-not a very good deal.
Amazon Mom plus Amazon Prime:
This option costs for $79/year with Amazon Prime, and you get 20% off diapers and wipes, free two-day shipping on Amazon and free unlimited movie streaming from Amazon and a Kindle book each month.
This brings the diapers to $37.59/month. If you factor in the $6.58/month for Amazon Prime it is
$44.17 or $.19 per diaper which includes the unlimited movie streaming and free book rental for your Kindle.
There is a free three month trial of Amazon Moms so try it and see if you like it.
Diapers.com does not require any additional sign-ups, programs or payments. Once you purchase your diapers you get free two day delivery (I’ve always gotten them next day) and an automatic 5% back on your next purchase from diapers.com or their sister sites.
The price of the diapers is $49.39. A id="mce_marker" e-coupon from the site made them $48.39. Once you factor in the 5% back the price is $45.92 or $.20 per diaper.
Babies R Us
Big box stores are not usually the least expensive way to buy diapers, or much of anything a baby needs, however with coupons they could be. Babies R Us sells a 210 count box of Pampers Size One Swaddlers for $46.99 in-store. Very often they have id="mce_marker"0 off coupons for large packs of diapers, including Pampers. With that coupon the diapers would be $36.99, or $.18 per diaper. If you happen to be in Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby or another big box store, remember to jump on your smart phone and check Snipsnap the coupon App.
At the end of the day, once you factor in all of the rebates, discounts and offers given by the diaper sites and stores, the price of a diaper is within $.01. However, if you are an Amazon user and could use the free shipping, movie streaming and books, Amazon is a great choice for buying diapers.
