Gaea Yudron Sage's Play Exploring creative aging, wellness and spirit www.sagesplay.com

I wrote a post on September 16th about why anti-aging industry was an assault on womens' well-being and BlogHer featured it on its home page for several days. It has accumulated nearly 1,000 reads so far, compared to 200 or less  views on my other posts which mostly cover creativity and the potential for growth and depth in later life. What made BlogHer editors choose this post I wondered, and I still do wonder. I have been a journalist for many years. I think like that. But even a person who is not a journalist is curious about it I'm sure. What is the combination of factors that makes BlogHer feature a post on its home page? I would love to know more about that process.

Okay I'm busted on not reading your email about the new layout and possibilities. Thank you very much for giving this description. What is an interesting topic? That is the real question. I know my writing is good. I guess I will just keep posting and learn thataway. I appreciate your response.

Oy. Can you email denise@blogher.com please?

When we launched the new home page earlier this month, we introduced a new "Featured Members" section on the home page. Every weekday we feature three great posts from the member blogs section of the site. Yours was indeed one of those chosen.

When we choose, we look for great writing, an interesting story or topic - something we think will resonate with other members of the community (and folks who've never been to BlogHer.com at all!), a member who has an image in her profile so that the byline photo isn't just a generic head icon. A post that contains images (that are owned by the author, or creative commons licensed) is also a plus but it's not a deal breaker.

Your post - had everything I was looking for.
