Have we become complacent with spam? Consider it just another "addition" from living in a high tech world that we have to learn to put up with, like unauthorized credit card charges that may never get prosecuted? I think people need to get mad about spam and start complaining, and if enough voices are raised, maybe something significant can happen. After my preteen's email account got hacked yesterday by spammers, who sent out offending "male enhancement" drug website links to her entire address book, I finally got mad enough to do some investigating-- yes, I think Nancy Drew would have been proud of me. But Nancy would have also probably been shocked at the seedy underbelly of spamming that I discovered, and that spam gangs are a lot closer to home than one might think-- and therefore, easier to file complaints against using U.S. law enforcement, state law enforcement, and a handy register of spammers that's free and open to the public online. Read about my journey and how you can fight back at http://uncoolmom.com/2011/08/09/when-your-kids-get-spammed-how-to-fight-..., and let me know if you've had similar experiences!
