At last the long wait is over. By the time you read this post, all the Downton Abbey fans will have had a chance to watch the first episode of Season Three on PBS, Sunday night at 9PM. Downton Abbey is the highest rated and most successful series in the history of the long running Masterpiece Theater franchise. This is no surprise to our BlogHer community, which gave our last poll about DA the most votes ever (over a thousand).
Over the next few weeks, the BlogHer polls will be exploring love, sex and relationships. And what better place to start than by examining our favorite relationships on Downton Abbey?
When we last saw Lady Mary, blue-eyed Matthew was proposing to her on his knees in the snow. Will they have an epic wedding? And what of poor Edith, the much maligned middle sister? Will she finally find love of her own this season and stop making her other sisters' lives a living hell? How long can Anna last while Mr. Bates sits in jail?
Help us pick the most exciting Downton Abbey relationship below. Even though it's not a romantic one, I've also included the new pairing of Dowager Countess Violet and the American Martha Levinson. When these two legendary Oscar-winning actors (Dame Maggie Smith and Shirley MacLain) are on the set, I think we can expect fur and feathered hats to fly!
Choose your favorites, DA fans. And if we've left any fabulous Downton Abbey couples out (or if you would like to imagine ones that might develop in Season Three) please let us know in the comments section.
