Which of the new fall TV shows do you think will be successful?

Most of the new fall television programs have premiered over the past couple of weeks.  Have you seen any of them yet?  This is the time of year when the following question can be heard across the land: "If I'm watching one channel, and recording another, can I still watch a third channel or will my DVR box explode?"

Retro is the code word for this year's new crop of TV series.  From the recent past (1960's "Mad Men" wannabes, "Pan Am" on ABC and "The Playboy Club" on NBC) to the very distant past (Sci Fi drama "Terra Nova" on FOX which takes its cast back in time 75 million years). Of course reality television is still a big part of Prime Time, with Simon Cowell's singing contest "The X Factor" joining the Fox line-up.  And new comedies are back this season with a vengeance, riding the coat tails of the hugely successful ABC Emmy winner, "Modern Family".

What's your take on the new season?  Have you seen any of the shows below?  Let us know on the Opinion Poll!

10-4-2011; Tuesday morning update: After only 3 weeks on the air, NBC has officially cancelled The Playboy Club.  This shouldn’t be a surprise to the BlogHer community, it has been receiving the least amount of votes for this new Fall TV poll so far.

I LOVE Pan Am, the only problem is it's scheduled up against one of my other fav's: The Good Wife. My dad worked for Eastern in those years, Pan Am was the competition (and usually won). I remember stewardesses NOT flight attendants, I remember when flying was NOT for the masses, when people "dressed up" to board a plane. When the food wasn't served shrink wrapped and they used real metal utensils IN COACH. I remember there was always a deck of cards for the kids and PLENTY of room to stretch out

A close friend's dad was a pilot for Eastern when I was growing up in upstate NY. He used to tip his wings when he was coming over our house on the way to La Guardia or JFK. Air travel was once so glamorous (sigh) those were the days! Sandy De Jesus

I'm rooting for the show New Girl. Jess is charming and endearing like so many great women I know. The "Jess" theme song is also hilarious!

I am wildly in love with Two Broke Girls on CBS. It comes on right before Two and Half Men. It is very well written- very fast and I think it's hysterical.

For new fall shows, I think "Revenge" is going to do well

I'm sort of liking Hart of Dixie. Although I keep expecting to see Michael J. Fox run by chasing a pig.

About the only shows we watch on TV are Burn Notice and Dexter, and then the cooking channels. But I am interested to see just what shows your audience here are most interested in. Thank you!

HomeRearedChef I'm a huge Dexter fan and can't wait to watch the season premier (which aired last night) when I have the chance this week. Looks like New Girl is the big favorite for this particular poll!

I didn't really include any of the new cable or pay cable shows in this roster (their premiers are all over the place...not just the Fall) but recommend "Homeland" on Showtime. It's a spy thriller starring the very talented Clair Danes and Mandy Potemkin, and Comcast is showing the pilot right now for free On Demand.

I was going to comment that the first ep of Homeland was terrific. Clare Danes was much more Jane Tennyson-esque than poor Maria Bello has the chance to be. I'm a huge fan of the orig. Prime Suspect. I love Maria Bello...but just couldn't stomach the American version of the show. Jane Collins

New Girl! It totally bypassed that new show awkwardness. It's really fun.

jeanettenyberg Apparently this is one of the few that has actually been renewed for next season already by the network.

I have to add Revenge to this list! I just watched the first two episodes at the end of last week and was hooked instantly. I hope it does well!

I am hoping that New Girl does well, too. Although I think they need to de-awkward Jess a little to make that happen.

I really liked New Girl! I also thought Pan Am, Up All Night, and Whitney were promising. I turned off The Playboy Club after 10 minutes.
