Which Olympic Events Will You Be Watching This Week?

BlogHer Original Post

The 2012 Summer Olympics will kick off this Friday, July 27, with the opening ceremony on NBC. Will you be watching?

The Olympics are in London this time, and I'm sure our friends across the pond will be putting on a spectacular show. The opening ceremonies provide the host country with an opportunity to showcase their finest talent and "national treasures." Sir Paul McCartney has already been confirmed as a performer, and perhaps Sir Elton John as well.

I'll be there to watch the glitter and glitz, and (most important) to cheer on the athletes from around the world as they enter the stadium. I'll also be cheering for the special emphasis that officials put on creating a "greener," eco-friendly Olympic Village in London for the 2012 games.

This week's poll wants to know what Olympic events you'll be watching. I'm partial to swimming, and can't wait to see if the fastest human in the water (Michael Phelps) will bring home the gold again. Tell us if you'll be watching the Olympics and which parts you're looking forward to the most!
