Winter is coming and we can hardly wait. Those of you who have already joined the Game of Thrones party know this is one of the core phrases from HBO's wildly popular sci-fi fantasy series. Based on George R.R. Martin's best-selling series of books (Song of Fire and Ice), the second season debuted two weeks ago and airs at 9PM on Sundays. The ratings are so impressive, a third season has already been approved. If you've been following GOT, it's easy to see why viewers have become rather obsessive about it. Where else can you find an epic fantasy world populated by a murderous teenaged king, zombies, a crazy queen in love with her brother, a handsome dwarf, baby dragons, direwolves, and a little girl (Arya) who is so heroic I wish she was running for president. Or at the very least adopted as a BlogHer totem.
The Game of Thrones is an action-packed wonder that has spawned countless viewing parties and endless online buzz. If you haven't watched yet, a very compelling reason may be to see the Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister. He's small in stature, but he is without question one of the wittiest, sexiest characters on TV.
One caveat: Game of Thrones is definitely not for kids. Audience discretion is advised.
