Why I Love My Business

I have been a petsitter now for 5 years and have enjoyed it more than any other career in my life. I started out just looking after a neighbors animals, after that I got more jobs and soon I made it a business.

For awhile it was a side job something to earn extra income with my regular jobs such as reporting, recording secretary etc. all these jobs never gave me the joy, satisfaction or freedom of schedule as my business does.

This last year when my reporting job ended I focused entirely on building my buisness. The started to boom, i was booked with clients and jobs. I even earned 600 in one month. Sure it means that i sometimes work holidays, have to be up early and out late, lots of milage and travel.

I love my business because I love animals, I get paid to be with animals and care for them. I get time off during the day and to stay at others homes. I get to make new friends and new contacts. I've learned that any event I go to can be considered networking.

Even if it doesn't have a steady hourly rate, i would not trade it for the world and I feel as God has blessed my life .

I think I would like to be a pet-sitter too. Even though I'm allergic to animals that I haven't acclimate to.

Just a thought: When my cats got very old, particularly my cat Samantha, who lived until she was 20, there became more medically-oriented tasks. I gave her sub-cutaneous fluids every day, along with other meds. So when I had to travel I would hire a vet tech from my vet's office to come in and do the basics, but also do the meds. I paid her more than I paid the usual sitter.

I wonder if you can take a course on things like giving injections or fluids. I really avoided traveling after a while because I was worried about who would take care of my cat's needs. It would add a real value to your service if you cold help people like me with their chronically ill or elderly animals.

Just a thought.
